Been meaning to post this one for a while too. It was cloudy when I was out in October, so I decided to bring my 35mm f2 lens and try to get some silky smooth backgrounds. The color on the moss was pretty vivid, and I liked the texture.

I don’t have Esther anymore, she’s back with the Boss, in Oklahoma now. I do miss her from time to time. This was in on the Turkey Creek trail in Emma Long Metro Park, back in October.

It interested me how all the leaves along the creek bank had these little slivers of ice tracing their outline.

So I’m going to try to update the blog again…obviously. Yay new theme. Yay twitter junk on the right. Yay icicles! Went out to St. Edward’s park last week, it was about 25º or so while I was hiking around.

Apologies for the unexpected hiatus. We are tentatively resuming our daily schedule, roughly by the end of the week. Enjoy while I fill in the gap.

As dry as it was, we still found plenty of mud wandering in the creek bed. Esther gets a bath for being such a good finder-of-mud.

Ship was washed ashore during one of the recent hurricanes, most likely Katrina. Enjoyed the color of the rust.
